Allow Me to Introduce Myself
Just a modern-day Renaissance woman committed to making this world a more joyful place...
Hello! I'm Kate Berry and I am the wearer of many hats, including wife, mom, friend, mental health advocate, and wedding celebrant.
And that's just the beginning.
I live nestled into the mountains of Whitefish, Montana with my husband, son, and our 2 big, furry dogs. I LOVE living in a place where people come to vacation - not only do I get to enjoy this beautiful place (and all the fun it has to offer) year-round, but I also get to meet people from all over the world!
Educated at the University of Montana, I practiced social work for 5 years as a program director and coordinator for the Center for Restorative Youth Justice in Kalispell, Montana. I then went on to earn an Associate Certified Coach credential through the International Coach Federation. Somewhere in this mix, a few people that I love started asking me if I would officiate their wedding ceremonies - and I instantly fell in love with that role. That's when Lindsey Jane Photography and I joined forces to create the Elope Montana Collective, and I began to offer my services as a non-denominational wedding officiant.
I am also fortunate enough to have made one of my passions my "day job." At the Nate Chute Foundation, an organization dedicated to suicide prevention, I work as a program and outreach coordinator. I work with students, parents, teachers, businesses, and communities to help educate people about depression, suicide, and how to help ourselves and others.
Other adventures and accomplishments include: restoring a 1971 Chevy Nova, dropping out of art school, backpacking solo through Panama, and hosting a podcast. On a regular day, I can usually be found with my nose in a book, organizing my house, or whipping up something in the kitchen (I love to cook!).
All of these aspects of my life have come together in an incredible way, and I couldn't be more fortunate. I strive to celebrate my life as much with attention, compassion, and gratitude as I can muster - because it makes enjoying the ride that much better. I've been known to share parts of my journey, including inspiration and lessons learned on the Joyful Rebel Podcast.
With a host of tattoos, a mop of curly hair, and the kind of voice that makes people say "I thought I heard you over there," - I'm often described as a "big ray of sunshine." This fits my ethos of leaving a trail of joy in my wake, and whether you choose to reach out and say "hello", tune in, or invite me along to help you say "I do," I hope to have the opportunity to shine a little of my light your way.
